Bringing Characters to Life! – Character Design for Animation

Join the BA (Hons) Animation course as we look at the art of character design and development for animation.

All you need is your sketchbook and imagination as we take prompts to design characters that can fit into animated films. Along the way, we will think about how they might fit into a 2D, 3D or Stop Motion film and the way we might do that.

So, come along and learn the basics of character creation and bring some of your characters to life with the animation team.

BA (Hons) Future Media Production

What Is Future Media Production?

Human beings are storytellers be that through films, TV shows or Tik Tok. The ability to create interesting and engaging stories and tell them visually is at the heart of the Future Media Production course.

In this session, we’ll see how to quickly outline a story concept by breaking a story into its core components. Through an exercise, you’ll learn how to structure your own story ideas and you’ll also get tips on some (free) software you can use to create and tell your stories.

You’ll see what types of media are being produced now and, in the future, as well as see the type of jobs available in the creative digital sector.

BSc (Hons) Web and User Experience Design

So, What Makes a Good Website?

In this session, we’ll see how design, content and code can all affect how easy a website is to use.

By the end of the session, you’ll be able to identify and name some of the things that you might already find frustrating about websites and apps and see ways they could be fixed.

We’ll see what web designers and user experience (or ‘UX’) professionals are employed to do and how this course could lead to the many different jobs in the digital industries.
