The School of Digital Arts (SODA), Manchester Metropolitan University, has been given support by PlayStation Career Pathways to run a non-residential summer school for students from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds.  

The PlayStation Career Pathways Program is aimed at individuals from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds who are currently studying in Year 12 or equivalent at a college or school and have an interest in studying the digital arts.  

The three-day event is supported by PlayStation Career Pathways and is an exciting opportunity for you to get a taste for creative subjects at university, build confidence and creative skills, and learn from experts within their field in the specialist facilities at SODA. The event will include hands on taster sessions in relevant areas such as games and animation.

Dates

The non-residential PlayStation Career Pathways Summer School programme will run across three days between the hours of 10am and 3pm:   

  • Tuesday 2 July 2024 
  • Wednesday 3 July 2024   
  • Thursday 4 July 2024

 Criteria to take part

To be eligible to take part, you must:   

  • Be from a Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic background   
  • Be studying in Year 12 or equivalent at a college or school (i.e) Level 3, year 1
  • Be interested in studying the Digital Arts
