Dr. Antony Hall, PhD / Fellow HEA

I am a Lecturer in Future Media Production. I have extensive experience as a practising multimedia artist and researcher working at the intersection of science and art, which has necessitated an experimental approach to working with materials and technologies. I bring my knowledge of interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation to the course. My work spans many media, from digital drawing, photography, bio-art and sound art to interactive installations and immersive multisensory experiences.

Alongside my teaching practice, I am a member of several artist collectives, including Proximity, para-lab (a collective of artists and scientists), and Owl Project (known for performance, sound art, and sculpture that combine elements of craft and electronics).

During my PhD research (completed 2021), I worked with experimental psychologists to explore perception and illusion. The project evolved into a collaborative project exploring movement and sensory perception in older autistic adults and people with Parkinson’s.
