I am a Lecturer in User Experience and Web Coding with the School of Digital Arts (SODA).

Working as a Website Director for an International Events and Publications Company for 11 years taught me how much I love coding websites on a day-to-day basis. I managed a team of Web Developers and at this point I discovered I loved teaching coding when I trained new recruits who joined my team. Seeing the lightbulb moment when they clicked with coding was always a joy to watch.

I then took a leap into the freelance world of supporting small businesses with their website and social media requirements. This allowed me to get out and about in industry making websites for different types of clients in the education and charity sectors.

In 2017 I took another leap and slight career change into the world of Apprenticeships. I wanted to pass on my knowledge of coding again and support people early on in their careers. I worked as a Digital Trainer and Assessor and then became a Skills Coach at MMU on their Award-Winning Degree Apprenticeships.

Now working as a Lecturer at SODA at Manchester Met, I could not be happier teaching my passion of User Experience and Web Coding to new recruits in the world of Web and UX. I also get to teach on the Award-Winning Degree Apprenticeships!

I have recently completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in HE and obtained my Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

Outside of teaching you will either find me at a racetrack racing a Citroën 2CV (yes it is a thing and we appeared on Top Gear), doing something car related or at a live music event.
